Sloppy Joes

1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
2 cloves of garlic or tablespoons of chopped garlic from a jar
1/2 small onion, diced
8 ounces tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Hamburger buns

MAKE TODAY INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Saute the garlic, onion and ground beef (or turkey) in a skillet until it’s no longer pink. Drain the grease from the meat.

2. Add the cooked meat, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and garlic powder to the crockpot. Give it a stir.

3. Cook in the crockpot on low for about 4 to 5 hours or high for 2 and a half.

4. Serve it up on hamburger buns or rolls with fresh fruit, chips and sliced pickles.

FREEZER PREP INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Label a gallon size ziplock freezer bag

Crockpot 2-3 hours on high or 4-5 hours on low.

2. Saute the garlic, onion and ground beef (or turkey) until it’s no longer pink. Drain the grease from the meat.

3. After the meat has cooled, place it in a ziplock bag and add the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and garlic powder.

4. Lay the bag flat and place it in the freezer. The night before you plan to serve it, remove it from the freezer and place it in the refrigerator overnight to thaw.

5. When you’re ready, dump it in the crockpot and let it cook.

6. Serve it up on hamburger buns or rolls with fresh fruit, chips and sliced pickles.
